Awesome. Part 2 of a series.

Right after the workshop in Switzerland, I headed South for the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference that was being held in Durban, South Africa.  The conference was held at the University of Kwazulu-Natal's Howard College.

There, I presented two papers with faculty from SFU's School of Communication:
  1. With Stuart Poyntz, how civic engagement is enabled by gaming spaces
  2. With Dal Yong Jin, theorizing the concept of platform imperialism through an examination of social media
The picture: From Durban's "Golden Mile" in "winter."  The Indian Ocean was still pretty warm.
Then it was about 36-hours back home to Vancouver. Awesomely long.
